Case Study Update – Month 25 Project “s²”

Pretty much the same update as last month. I hope my work this fall on the website will make this case study a bit more exciting. I’m diving more into A.I. tools and building a topical map and have a plan of action that I can start implementing soon.

Here’s the tl;dr on the site specs:

  • Cloudways Vultr hosting from the start
  • Ezoic ads from the start
  • GeneratePress Theme (basic setup)
  • Aged Domain

Analytics Traffic

In August, I had 20,905 pageviews for this website. Traffic has been dipping a little bit each month over the past few months. I’m not too worried, as I haven’t really done anything to prevent this.

With Google updates and the lack of work, I’m just happy there’s still some hope for this website.

Let’s Talk Money

For August 2023, month 25 of this website, the Ezoic earnings were $109.97 (with a $5.74 EPMV)

Last month’s earnings were $113.70.

Definitely my lowest month money-wise. However, my previous posts have mentioned how I took a lot of ads off and made the website revenue-focused.

Well, going into Q4 I’ve done the opposite, and have pretty much all the ads I can implement from Ezoic up and running with a focus on revenue. As I write this in September, I can already see the EPMV growing a bit, so hopefully, I squeeze out some extra dollars this quarter.

So, What’s the Plan?

I’ve kept talking about it, but now I’ve actually been doing it. I signed up for ZimmWriter and have created a topical map using basic ChatGPT prompts for categories and search intent keywords.

The only thing I’m on the fence about is how many previous posts I delete while I move forward with a topical authority plan. I may move a bunch over to a basic “FAQ” category, especially the ones that have traffic. But for posts that have little relevance and traffic, I may end up just deleting and cut my losses.
